Did anybody else watch this show? I used to love it! I've been thinking about getting the DVDs (if possible) so I can see what the Japanese version was like.

Good luck on getting it. I've been wanting this for years. That box set that came out years ago. This series should really get a re-release.

As for the Japanese version (from the eps I've seen), there really wasn't too much of a difference. The series wasn't "chopped up" or anything like that like some other series. Even the bgm was kept for the dub.

Until then, there's a really good review from the Anime World Order podcast of interest to listen to that describes everything about the show (original title "Yoroiden Samurai Troopers"). The show though was often looked on as rip-off to Saint Seiya (a.k.a. "Knights of the Zodiac").

It was a pretty decent translation from what I've heard about it, though some of the names of the characters were changed or even re-arranged for no reason, but it was far better than what was seen before from the likes of companies like Saban (Tekkaman Blade comes to mind). Bandai Entertainment released the series on DVD that contained both the English and Japanese versions as well as the OVA episodes some years ago.

I remember comming across Ronin Warriors by accident while channel surfing one day.

Boy am I ever glad I did!

I really want this show. Sadly I've only gotten the first three DVDs, as well as the OVAs.

I canNOT suggest strongly enough NOT to buy the OVAs.

Ok the first one isn't all THAT bad.

But the second one was a waste of money. There is litterly an episode that has about 10+ minutes of the SAME UNMOVING PICTURE, while the characters leave ANSWERING MACHINE MESSAGES.

Definitely. I have a few subbed eps and I saw the dub, and I don't recall much of a difference aside from voices (of course) and names.

Yeah, but it's "out of print" now, so to speak. They should really re-release the box set. I've been wanting this for years. I saw it once in a Sunco, but it was close to $100, and I only had about $60 on me. I had no idea that it would become hard to buy later on.

I saw it a few times on cartoon network. The badguys were way awesomer than the goodfarts.

Really, there were times when I saw those DVD's at the store and went "I shoudl buy them", but never did. Nowadays the lowest I could go is downloading the episodes via BitTorrent if that's the best I can get.
