This show came out on Nickelodeon when I was 5 (1989) and loved it ever since. It's always been my #2 favorite Nick show of all time, right under #1 You Can't Do That on Television. And I recall Hey Dude coming on right before You Can't Do That... Was that the original time Hey Dude used to come on? Anyway, there was something about this show that was so enjoyable just to watch. I loved everything about it, especially the cast. Melody and Brad were pretty, and even as a five year old I knew it. lol. I liked the opening theme, but I LOVED the closing instrumental theme!

I was watching a lot of the episodes when they were new. I remember the kiss Brad gave Ted at the end of the episode where he's leaving, and then the next episode or two had Jake joining the cast. I also remember that one bitch that came to the ranch from Brad's hometown and giving her a hard time.

What are all your fond memories of this show?

It was a bad show, in my opinion. My brother made me watch it when I was 12 years old. I thought it was boring. It came out when I was starting to lose interest in Nickelodeon.

There was only one episode that I really liked. That was the one where they played capture the flag.

This show was alright but I liked Salute Your Shorts so much more. The dad on this show used to annoy me. I always wanted him to get eaten by a jackrabbit or something.

In early 1999, right after Christmas, I decided to finish taping the rest of the series on VHS (after taping a handful of them in 1994 and then quit) because I had a gut feeling that they were going to stop playing them soon. Well, I taped "Ex-Static" (where Buddy's mom comes over to the ranch to take him home), and then the next one which was "No More Mr. Nice Guy" (where Melody stops letting others take advantage of her generosity). After taping that episode, the show disappeared!!! I wasn't all too surprised, but TERRIBLY disappointed because after only taping TWO episodes that time, I realized I waited too late. And just in time for Nick to take it off their schedule. :(

I later read on the Hey Dude website that that was the episode that was played, on Jan. 23 1999. So that's when I knew for sure that I taped the very last broadcast of Hey Dude. I always feel sad when I watch that tape now, and then as the closing credits fade out to the commercial, it was all over.

Me too, but I always watched it, anyway.

My friend wanted to marry Buddy.

Hmmm... I remember many hot summer afternoons, inside in the cool AC after a trip to the pool or a swing on the jungle gym...

Just kickin' back with a cold Hawiian Punch and a Reese's, relaxing to an episode of "Hey Duuuuuuuude". Those were the best years of my life.

Omg, I hated Hey Dude, its one of the worst shows ever made. It was cheap and unrealistic, and stupid. I always hated it when it came on.

I like this show. It wasn't as good as Salute your Shorts but it is still awesome. I hope this gets a DVD release someday.

Oh that stinks, and you didn't tape the Special airing in 2004? I wish I watched it on that day but I missed it.

I used to think the brown-haired girl was pretty hot.

I liked the show- but then again I WAS 10 or so. I liked Ted...then he left and then I liked Kyle- ergo, I HATED Brad. Looking back, the show WAS pretty hokey- but it suited the times, and I was a kid so...

I used to like this show...but then again I was around the ages of 12-14 when it aired. I don't remember the ep where Buddy's mom came back?? And I seen like every one of them several times. I always wondered how the show lasted 3 yrs or so...but everything took place in one summer?

It's the episode where Buddy calls his mom in NYC because he was mad at his dad, Mr. Ernst. She flys to the ranch in attempt to take him home, but he didn't want to leave. Before she heads back to NYC, his mom spends the day at the ranch. He pretends he injured his foot to try to get his parents back together again.

It's a heartwarming scene with Melody talking to Buddy after he runs away; she experienced parents divorcing too.
