Super Munchers! It was a game where you played as a little green monster of some sort. You moved around a board with a bunch of words, and you had to eat the ones that matched the board's theme (vegetables, for example). You also had to avoid the enemy monsters that tried to eat you, and if you made it into this special portal you gained superpowers and could destroy the enemies.

Oregon Trail was fun also. When my family got its first computer, this was one of the games I played on it.

I loved computer class! We had a whoppin' 5 color monitors, which EVERYONE wanted. The rest were green. We had the huge disk drive with the big ol' floppy disks too.

Around 1988-89 we got "Koala Pads" which were like primitve mouses, and we used a popsicle stick to draw on the pad.

        Favorite games included:
The Oregon Trail (got to the very end... where you're manuvering the buggy, and there was a friggin FIRE DRILL, and all the computers shut off...I was SO mad)
        Number/Word/Letter Munchers
        Carmen Sandiago games
        Suffix Sense

Oregon Trail and Dino Park Tycoon were the big ones. I remember playing games like Reader Rabbit, Treasure Mountain and Carmen San Diego at home.

The Elementry School I used to go to had Mario Teaches Typing. It was a fun game. They also had Putt Putt goes to the Moon, Orgon Trail, and Carmen Sandiago. I don't remember much more they had.

I played Carmen Sandiego, some golf game, and Battlechess (the Mortal Kombat of chess) in school. Actually I learned how to play a little chess with that game.

I remember using an Apple II computer in computer class in the very early 90's when I was little.I remember playing:

                    Incredible Machine

I didn't play it in school, but at home I would play Math Blaster: In Search of Spot constantly. It just never got old. I also liked The Oregon Trail (although my people always died), later Math Blaster games, Midnight Rescue, Gizmos and Gadgets, and the "Munchers" games (Math Munchers, Word Munchers, etc.).

That game was awesome! You wander around Granny's Garden looking in closets and counting trees...Actually it sucked.

                              Oregon Trail
Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing (In which I purposely made errors)
                              Wheel of Fortune
Math Blaster In Search of Spot

Most of the stuff I did in computer classes was pretty lame and had to do with typing skills or teaching me math. I do remember two pretty fun ones, one I played when I went to a computer summer camp, it was a thing where you could make your own Garfield comic and another from when I was in grade six where you could make short stories and illustrate every page. It was all drag and drop stuff but the graphics were far better than generic clip art.

The Oregon Trail and Carmen SanDiego are what I remember most. I barely remember Math Blaster, Number Munchers, and Treasure Mountain.

I went to Elementary School in the mid to late 80's. I remember one of the first games on the computer having something to do with a turtle (not ninja turtles). Maybe not a game but a learning tool to get the students aquainted with the computer. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Yep! The turtle was like a little white triangle and you would type in "Up 2 steps, Left 2 steps, Down 2 steps, Right 2 Steps" and the turtle would draw a box 2x2cms wide :D

I remember Number Munchers back in Elementary School.

In Middle School we had Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing. Gaaah!!! I HATED HER!!! She said some pretty mean stuff when you made one typo too many. 'ey, anyone remember that Mavis Beacon game where the faster you typed, the faster your car would go and for every typo you made, a bug would smack the windshield and get squashed and the classic "Shave and a Haircut" ditty would play??
