Hi Guys, I know not many of you are huge Go-bots fans but I am. Why you ask and why post it in memory lane?
Well when I was a kid growing up I had some poor cousins who were molested and beaten quite often. They rarely had toys to play with and I didn't want to share mine with them to be quite honest.
Then one Christmas some kind soul bought them some Go-bots. I remember looking down on their toys at first but later it made me warm inside. They too could enjoy the spirit of Christmas as they played with Leader-1 or probably just his sidekick "scooter" and let's get down to brass tacks they'd quit asking to touch my Optimus Prime.
So next time you look down on some "alternative" toy line, I hope you remember the warmth of this story and remember the morals learned by me in my youth.

I use to love Go Bots, though at the time I didnt know the differance between them and Transformers. I found a few VHS tapes at the local video store and bought them, memories.

Two words (that actually sound like four): K-Mart Transformers. I hated the Go-Bots. I'm actually glad that Hasbro bought Kenner (and in the process Tonka). They're now sometimes using the Go-Bots name for their preschool Transformers line.
Yeah debris(great logo bro!) I used to hate the to but then Irealized they served a purpose. Not all toys are created equal and neith are people if you get what I mean.

Yeah, even back then they weren't as cool. The transformations were way too basic- pull out the arms, pull out the legs, flip the head open. Whereas most transformers were a bit more complex.

I think one of the transformation steps for Fortress Maximus is 'punch your kid brother in the back of the head'. Or maybe I made that one up...I don't remember.
No debris it was called for in the instructions because I did it too.
One time one of my cousins asked to have a Transofrmer vs go-bot war...they untied him two hours later

haha, go-bots were shit...yes they are a great piece of nostalgia. but honestly the toys blow. they were just playin off of the transformers hype

I liked Go-Bots and Transformers as a kid. Then again, I watched almost every cartoon back in the 1980s.

I seem to remember them being almost as popular transformers at my school and I wasn't even in the "special" class. And I'm almost certain the Gobots cartoon came first. (and now to piss everyone off)You could almost say Transformers ripped off GoBots;)

Machine Robo was definitely something of a rip-off of the Diaclone concept.

I had a Go-Bots lunchbox in kindergarten. I tried to explain to my parents that Go-Bots weren't Transformers, but they didn't listen or care. I tossed that thing under the school bus and said it was an accident on the first day I had it.

Yeah, Transformers didn't begin to suck until 1987. Some of those were very uninspired. Don't get me started on Action Masters...

After Gen1 they lost their way, there is no denying that.

I really admire Transformers the Movie, if they were going to try to introduce a totally new line of toys at least they had the balls to actually murder the old ones right before our grade-school eyes... and not even in a Bambi's mom kind of way... like in a "look there are some left alive, let's toss them out of Astro-Train" kind of way.

Go bots were lame as hell even back then. Duke you are kind of lame for not sharing your toys with your poor cousins.:(
