Anybody remember this movie? It was released in 1988 and stars John Candy. Also, if anybody remembers this film, does anyone know if it's avaliable on DVD anywhere?

Yeah, I love the movie. John Candy was great. I know around here, you find find it in Wal-Mart in a stand-alone version or you can buy a John Candy box set with Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, and one other movie I can\'t remember.

A top John Candy/Dan Ackroyd film, classic if you ask me. Right up there with Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

I actually saw it at Wal-Mart as well as Best Buy for like $7.50 and I would def. look into purchasing it.

R.I.P. John Candy, we love and miss you so much. I grew up with Candy and he will always be one of my favorite actors of all time.

My parents and I used to watch "The Great Outdoors" religiously. There are so many choice parts in the film that it would take me forever to mention them all. The one that tops it all for me is the following though:

                          Wife: "Ahhhhh! Ahhhhhh!"

                          Roman: "What?! What?!"

                          Wife: "It touched me!!!"

Roman: "It's been touching you for twelve years, you never freaked!"

                          Wife: "Not you!!!"

                          Roman: "What?!"

                          Wife: "That thing!!"

And of course you remember the scene with the bat in the house. Choice...just choice.

Yes this is defintely out on DVD. I have it as well as an old VHS of it recorded off the television like 20 years ago.

John, you will always make me laugh :D

I absolutely LOVE this movie!!! My girlfriend and I watch it all the time. Her favorite line is :"Why don't you go find yourself a SPIN cycle!!". Uncle Buck is also a fave. Another great with John Candy is "Summer Rental". I recommend it to anyone who liked TGO or UB.
