I have a very very vague memory from when I was a kid, I'm pretty sure it's of an animated tv show (although it could be a book)...

I can't remember most of the characters but I remember there was a talking well, he was white I think, with a red roof, and he was called HG Well (I think). I think he gave advice to the other characters but I'm not sure.

Anyway, I'm determined to prove that I'm not imagining it. Does anyone else remember it? It's driving me mad. My Mum says it "rings a bell". Well thats useful! :roll:

Oh, I'm British, and it must have been the late 80s/early 90s that I watched it.

there was an episode of Garfield adn Friends that had a talking wishing well in it.

Daffy Duck's Movie: Fantastic Island (1983)

Daffy Duck and Speedy Gonzales are stranded on a deserted island eating nothing by coconuts. Daffy was going nuts. The two suddenly notice two ships battling one another. One ship was captained by Bugs Bunny. The other by Yosemite Sam. The two continue to do battle until Sam's boat explodes. Boat parts along with an iron chest land on the island. Speedy finds a treasure map within the chest and he and Daffy see if it leads anywhere. Meanwhile, Sam and his first-mate Taz make it to shore. Sam finds his treasure map gone and searches for it. Meanwhile, the map leads Daffy and Speedy to a well.The well speaks and could grant wishes. Daffy wishes to be a superhero so he could fly off the island so the well transforms him into Stupor Duck who flies around the city looking for a villain known as Ardvark Ratnik, who was really a character on a soap opera. Daffy prevents a ship sinking, a bridge explosion and a falling building which were all intentional! Daffy then winds up back on the island. He then get's the idea to turn the island into a fancy resort! Soon a plane filled with tourists: Foghorn Leghorn, Pepe LePew, Porky Pig, Sylvester, Granny, Elmer Fudd, Rocky, Mugsy, Big Bad Wolf, Wile E. Coyote, the whole gang arrived! Daffy decided to charge them $500 for a penny to throw into the well. Granny wished to be a nurse and soon she admits Tweety, Sylvester and Butch into the hospital after they get into a car crash while chasing one another.

Sam and Taz still search for the map; Foghorn Leghorn makes the next wish, followed by Pepe LePew and Porky Pig. Sylvester does too and sees himself getting a mouse for a baby thanks to a drunk stork and the neighborhood cats try and take it. Sam then discovers what's up and makes a wish in the well that he would be heir to a fortune. It doesn't quite go as he had expected and he seized the map back. The island then changed back to normal. The well had three wishes left. Speedy got the first one which was for a burrito. Daffy wished the burrito to be stuck on his nose, but when Daffy asked Sam to use his wish to remove the burrito, Sam instead wished for a pirate ship and vowed to come back for them as soon as he "sinks a certain pesky rabbit".

This is probably my favoite Looney Tunes movie. It spoofs TV's Fantasy Island. Daffy Duck is Ricardo Montalban and Speedy Gonzales is Herve Villechaize. When the characters make a wish then see themselves performing it, those are classic Looney Tunes cartoons. My favorite is the Yosemite Sam one where he must keep from blowing his top in order to get money. That one is so funny! Also, except for various archieve footage, Bugs Bunny doesn't really appear in this movie. That's probably because it's Daffy Duck's movie. Anyway, Looney Tunes fans, I recommend Daffy Duck's Movie: Fantastic Island!!
