I've noticed that there are a good number of people here that were born around the year 94-95. I was just wondering what things are the reasons you joined this site? I am not saying by any means that you aren't 90s kids if you feel you are, I'm just curious because you were so young then. I am glad to see kids younger than me will carry on the memories of the 90s, too! What was it you experienced at such a young age that made you love the decade so much? I'd love for you to share your memories of back then here. :D

        Ok then.....

...I experienced a love for cartoons & video games that we don't hear much or any of now & once again found the shows/games from the 90's decade right hear at RJ.

I agree with your signature CowandChicken. The mid to late 90's haven't ended for me either.

Unfoutunatly the good times ended for me in 2003 and now I am left only with the memories as things will never be exactly as they used to be.

Although I was born in '93 too, I figured that since you let Shaunbadia have his word wh not let me two cents as well.

Most of my memories of the 90's stem from when I was in kindergarten and first grade, of which included when good TV was still on with shows like "CatDog", "Ed, Edd & Eddy", "SpongeBob" (before it's brief hiatus from '01 'til around '03), "Rocko's Modern Life", "Ren & Stimpy" and countless other shows too. As far as video games go I have wonderful memories of the N64 era with classics that I had including "Super Mario 64", "Pokemon Stadium" (and 2), "Super Smash Bros.", "Donkey Kong 64", "Star Fox 64", "Paper Mario" and more. I'd say the glory days ended at the end of 2002. Although time since passed,
I still enjoy it and keep it up by going right here on RetroJunk.

I find if funny for people born in the early/mid 90's, that they don't remember a time before the original Playstation.

How Tiny Toons & Animaniacs are "classic cartoons"...

How films are only good if they have lots of CGI...

How they just really saw or used a record-player...

How 'The Simpsons' were on for many years BEFORE they were born!!!

It just goes to show your age.

The same can be said for the older generation.

I'm sure that if someone came here that grew up in the 50's and 60's, they would be appauled that we think of the 80's as being "retro". It just depends on how you look at it.

I consider Animaniacs classic, and I was born in the 80s. I loved that series, Tiny Toons too, but not as much as I did Animaniacs. I liked the slap-stick comedy it involved.

Yeah, as I've been saying for practically forever, "retro" is too subjective a term. Like for me, "retro" is anything (and I do mean anything) that makes me feel incredibly nostalgic. Could be something 10 years ago, 10 months ago, 10 minutes ago, etc. It still refers to the past...

Actually, for most of the 1990s, I grew up with a record player in my household that I listen to often, until it was replaced by a DVD Player in 1999.

Umm, micro - no offense but how on earth did a dvd player take the place of your record player? they are two totally different pieces of equipment with two totally different purposes.

                      records were replaced by 8-tracks
8-tracks were replaced by cassette tapes
cassette tapes were replaced by CDs
Cds are now in the process of being replaced by MP3s and the digital music era

We got rid of our old record player when we bought our DVD player. The DVD Player was put in the same place that the Record Player used to be in. Makes sense now?

I see that many replies have been given since I left yesterday. I am not pleased with where this is going for the most part. I made this thread to let the people on here who are often talked about in such a rude manner feel welcomed. Who's to say what these kids remember? Some remember more than others at a certain age. We are all here because we love a certain part of our childhood and want to remember it. I was born at the very beggining of 1990, and yes, I do remember a time before playstation. Quite well as a matter of fact. I'm sure the people here born near the mid 90s do, too. It obviously means a lot to them, or they wouldn't be here. I am glad people even younger than me value the 90s, and don't think anything but DVDs or Xbox are fun. I know it's up to you people what you post here, but please, let's all do what we are here for. Let's love our past that has been lost, and be thankful for those who remember it with us.

yes - you are right cowandchicken. to give the best response i can - as to why things sometimes go sour around here - I will just say that I think each particular generation is somewhat protective of the decade they knew. to them, all the others are hogwash (lol)

what i am trying to say is just that I think each of us deep down thinks OUR decade of choice is the best. Even though it isnt, necessarily. its just all the we know. and in the end, we need to remember that as we post...
