(Answering the call for 80's kids to be more vocal)

I was inspired one day while at the mall. See I notice, especially at Claires Botique, Icing, Afterthoughts etc... there is this crazy revival of plastic/rubber/glittery chunky neon paraphanalia. I actually bought some bracelets and earrings.

So I figured hey, lets start a thread on our favorite jewlery of the 80's- mine were:

the plastic bracelets with the glitter and water inside

Charm Necklaces (pink plastic chain link necklaces with different colorful charms) I had rollerskates, tennis rackets, boxing gloves, unicorn, boom box...oh I had a few.

Super dangly earrings in crazy geometric shapes.

"FAZ" jewlery/makeup ( I had a yellow and black lipgloss necklace, and one that attached to a hair scrunchy)

BIG barrettes. Ones with big foofy bows and scarves.

I wasn't really into jewelery when I was a kid but I remember slap bracelets. Does anybody remember that fad? I do. I was thinking it was late 80's but it could have been early 90's I guess. I had a few of them and I had friends who tried to collect every design out there. They faded out after I kid got her wrist cut from the bendable metal inside the bracelet. At least thats what I remember.

lol! and guess what? those slap bracelets are back again! I saw one the other day - almost bought it for my daughter. It was at Cracker Barrel - only this time around they are pink and fuzzy and say "princess" and stuff. they were actually really cute - cuter than i remembered...

Really, Thats cool. I would buy one but I want the good old fashion kind that sting when you slap them on. I'm not into fuzzy things that say princess.

I know plastic rubber bracelets and pop pop beads. I loved to wear those as a kid.

Back when i was in grade nine(2000) i wore those jelly bracelets, i still like them and then four years ago when bangles made another apperance in stores i bought a few. Eighties jewlery is way more fun, it would be be cool if the exact same jewlery was sold today, minus clairs and stuff. Iam talking about every store, so your not the oldest person in clairs hahah. I remember slap bracelests so well i was just thinking about them yesterday. The three main fads of my youth were Slap bracelets, Pogs, Baby Soothers, Tamagotchies and Nanos. Do you guys remember Boondogle bracelets and Friendship bracelets? here are some pics.
