Does anyone remember the show 'Welcome Freshmen"? It was on Nickelodeon in the early 90's along with shows like "Salute Your Shorts" and 'Hey Dude" I used to watch that show and it crossed my mind today. I haven't seen much about it anywhere.
Ask me about my Ballcuzzies

Yea, I remember that show... but BARELY. I was really young watching it. Some of the more memorable things I have of that show was the bald principle always day dreaming about being a comedian and doing that drum-skit thing that is so over-used... other than that, I can't really recall much. As for Salute Your Shorts, I could probably recite any and all episodes! There's a thing on YouTube, a video full of bloopers with the cast of Salute Your Shorts and they're swearing a couple times when they screw up, it's real funny and unexpected! Hey, Dude was an OK show as well, watched it routinely with my brother when we were kids... so it's all good stuff.

I definatly remember that show. I remember the second season tara supposently went to say in one of those houses, I can't remember what they are called but like the one in bio-dome. The most memorable episode would have to be the one with Shanice, with that girl (erin maybe?) wrote a song that Shanice sang "Do you know? Can you show? Tell me where we can have a conversation, where we walk and where we talk and no one else is waiting there..".

I also seem to remember that right around this time was the time that Nick started showing more cartoons and newer shows during the day. They had just stopped showing shows like Dennis The Menace and Flipper and Lassie on there during the day. I remember them showing nick at night type shows during the day right before that time. Maybe it was just the weekends they did that but I DO remember seeing Flipper, Dennis The Menace and Lassie on alot during the daytime hours.

I vaguely remember it. I would have only been like 5 - 7 years old while this show was running, so it doesn't surprise me that I didn't really watch it.

From what I remember, it was probably comparable to like a Save by the Bell, but with kids that were a little bit older.
          49ers. (STL) Cardinals.
          I miss childhood.

Oh that was a fun show- Mr. Lippman doing his occasional stand up routine was funny. That was on either right before or after "Fifteen" wasn't it?

I remember thinking Jill Setter (who played Tara) was very pretty. I wonder what she did after that?

I remember the heck out of the name, and I know I watched it.
I just can't remember anything about it at all.

I remember two things about that show: a kid stuffed in a basketball hoop and an episode when they all thought they found a space rock, and it turned out to be a chunk of compacted poop that a plane dropped. Seriously, that was what it turned out to be.

Mom and Stepdad used to watch the Saturday evening lineup with me- my stepdad was fond of Clarissa Explains it All, Mom loved "Are you Afraid of the Dark" and we all loved Ren and Stimpy. I liked the other stuff- Rugrats, Doug and Roundhouse, but my folks thought Roundhouse was weird and creepy.

Was there a character on "Freshmen" named Walter? Was he the blonde guy? Whomever the blonde guy was- I thought he was totally cute.

Yep, Walter was the blonde guy, played by Rick Galloway. Does anyone remember "Mortise the Safety Tortoise (he always plays it safe)?"

I only vaguely remember this show. Specifically: opening the door to the Senior hall and seeing a beach, the teacher who they thought wore the same thing every day, the way the prinicpal's office looked, and a commerical with the kids running through the halls. But Mortise the Tortoise sounds familiar, can anyone elaborate?

"Mortise the Safety Tortoise" was like a short on the show. There was a man dressed up as a tortoise, and the jingle went "He's Mortise, the Safety Tortoise. He always plays it safe!" The tortoise would be giving a safety lesson and then get hurt. It was goofy, but I probably laughed at the time.
