Someone brought up the movie "The Buttercream Gang" and it got me thinking of another one of those old family movies that were made by Hallmark (or a company like it). It's called "On Our Own". It was actually pretty decent. At the beginning of the movie, four kids' mother dies and they are sent to an orphanage. Then they find out that they are all going to be split up and sent to different homes, so the oldest, Mitch, decides that they need to steal their late mother's VW bug and set out to visit their uncle, who he thinks knows where their dad is, who ran out on the family or something years ago. This movie was kind of like "The Wizard" in that it was about some kids going on a road trip, avoiding the authorities, facing off against punks with big mullets who are trying to steal their money, etc. Anyone else seen this one?
