i agree 100% i've watched that series one or 2 times
(the pic you used is from the movie not the tv series but it still looks alot like the pic)
in this series the bad guy is a care bear gone bad but more like beasty in a robot then a smart or scary badguy. theres NO care cousins THEY DONT go down to earth and help kids and what i HATE the most is they riped off of the older bears. best friend bear and amigo bear are clones of friend bear. day dream bear and sweet dream bear are clones of bedtime. and some of the bears like tender heart love-alot and bedtime ARENT even in the second cast of characters there at best in the backround

the one episode me and my son watched had something to do with a star and one of the bears bellies and i was like this is insulting my 4 year olds intelligence so we turned it off and put on a he-man Dvd instead.

Man thats just shameful...That doesnt even look like the Care Bears!
Probably because in market research kids responded better to this new style, and companies make what their audience (in this case, little kids) wants to see because that makes them money.
Bears don't even wear hats like cmon..do they atleast have the cloud cars still..i wanted one of those things so bad.

As a kid I definitely wouldn't like this.
