This is a spin-off of Jennings' VHS Tape thread. I'm sure we all still have a collection of cassette tapes lying around. Does anyone still listen to them for any reason at all? Does anyone still record on them?

    I still record on tapes.

I got an old '80s boombox at my house, so I sometimes pop in that LL Cool J.

    Hah.

Not for nostalgic reasons, but because I still love the music on them. Although if I could find the tapes of stuff I recorded off the radio around 1989-90 from WLOL and Radio AHHS (yeah, creative combo, I was at a crossroads in life- childhood versus what would be "tween" years only that gawshawful word hadn't been coined yet). If I could find those tapes I think I'd have some fun.

Hell no. Cassettes are horrible. When I do listen to them it's because I don't have the album on CD or haven't found it available to download online.

I have held on to a small handful of my cassette tapes but I never really liked the medium much. I was really happy when they finally got around to making cd players in car stereos a standard feature.

I do have an alarm clock I bought at Salvation Army with a tape player in it, it's nice to wake up to one of my Neil Young or AC/DC tapes.
