Does anyone remember those pencil cases for school. They were like a little shoe box but they had secret buttons and compartments on them that held things like erasers and pencil sharpeners. The top of the box was kind of a padded vinyl with stuff like jets and race cars on them....anyone, anyone? Bueller?

anyone know what they were called so I can search for them?
Be cool. Someone will answer you question in due time. I can't think of what they are. When were they around? 70's? 80's?

They were in the 80's I would say I had one in 89 so they probably existed in the early 90's as well. They were long rectangles and they opened up and had all kinds of secret places to put pencils and notes, and erasers, and they had secret pencil sharpeners and things.

They were just called pencil cases. I had a snoopy one a garfield one and a wrestling one.

Oh yeah, I had many of those. Push a button, out pops a compartment with your eraser. Push another button, and there's a pencil sharpener! The only thing I hated about them was that for the top part that held your pencils, there was a size limit...my pencils with cool toppers wouldn't fit. :x
Edit: I found a picture of a Hello Kitty one.
They just called it a "pop-out pencil case". I forgot that they were double-sided as well!

Man I loved those things! I got my one and only one at Tokyo Disneyland when I was 5. Those things were awesome!^_^
