It never really went away. We used to sing it all the time back in high school during the mid-90's.

The Muppet Show. A television phenomenon. You can fill a library with all that has been written about The Muppet Show. What I'll never understand is that when Jim Henson went to the american tv networks in the 1970's with his idea for The Muppet Show he was turned down. CBS for one only wanted the show as a syndicated series. It was British tv that came to the rescue and thanks to ITC Entertainment we got to see Jim and the gang do their Muppet Magic. There is no doubt in my mind that part of The Muppet Show's charm comes from that unmistakeable british quality that strikes a cord with the american audience. And like all good british tv The Muppet Show will live forever.

Actually, Mananana was aired in 1969 on Sesame Street, before the Muppet Show. It was with 2 girls and that shaggy red haired muppet with glasses who went on to do the "Some of us, all of us.." and the rhyming song (red...head...fed...bread...)
