In 2000, when the decade ended. It's not like the Sixties which carried over into the early 70's. 90's pop culture was largely supplanted by the time the decade ended, and Boy Bands are an icon of the later 90's that were already mostly dead by 2000.

1997 was the last year in the 90's that I really enjoyed. I also sometimes feel like it's still 1999 (not much has changed since than really). I mean, look at the difference between 1988 and 1998...HUGE difference. Now look at the difference between 1998 and 2008. Not nearly as much has changed in the last 10 years as it did between 88 and 98.

Seriously though, for me the 90s died when Saturday Night Live lost all they're good talent like Farley, Hartman, Sandler, Spade, Carvey, Meyers... basically the dream team of SNL.
And also when heavy metal music got ousted by Seattle alternative and grunge, it was pretty much over for me then.

Quoted for truth, and thank God it did. The 2000s is a great decade. I love the TV, the music, the movies and the fact that I have a decently paying job. Most especially, I'm glad I'm not in school anymore, although to be fair, my school years ended in 2001.

1/1/2000 at 12:00am. :D (Well, they actually flat lined around 11:58pm 12/31/99, but after about 2 minutes of CPR and shocking them, they were declared dead at 12:00/00:00 1/1/2000) :D

For me the 90's died in August 2001 when Vice President Dick Cheney gave a speech in favor of President Bush's plan to revive the 1980's Reagan era "Star Wars" missile defense plan with a corresponding increase in defense spending. I mean borrowing.
Imagine starting the new millennium by reconstructing the Reagan administration. Hello 1980's with none of the cool stuff, just the awful stuff! Goodbye 1990's!
And then it was September . . .
The Eldorado is dead. Long live the Eldorado.

^ yep agreed. ([side note]:sikkbones...it still can't get over that sig man...its very much awesome. Is there a way to view one panel @ a time for your signature avatar? [end note]..) For me, the quality of things ended around mid 2003. I wouldn't necessarily consider that the end of the 90's, just the end of a pretty damn good life for me. The 90's ended around 1999, 2000/2001 along with eddstarr88 stated.
