Yessiree!!! It helped when My worked at a Sears Catalog store.
Great stuff you can find in the Wish Book , in which would turn into a bunch of smaller books in the Comming seasons!!

I loved the wishbooks, I would do the same thing and circle the things I wanted. JCPenny also had a good wish book. Thats all replaced with the internet now. Sad, I loved those days I would spend hours loking through those catologs.

I marked the beginning of Christmas. I would be so excited when I would find it in the mail. I would start looking for it in the summer. My mom would tell me to make a list, and I would circle almost every toy.

Dude, that was my mother's defacto standard for my Christmas wishlist.

Yep, I used to do that. My grandmother got the catalog and had all us grandkids go through it and mark what we wanted.

Most definitely. That was also how my Grandma shopped for us. I'd sit at her dining room table and circle the toys that I wanted.

I always drew mustaches on people in those books.

If i didn't read this I probably would have never thought about this again...which would have been sad! I can remember exact pages and the feeling I got thinking about the possibilities...It was so exciting. :D
                          Thanks for the memories..

I remember how giant size that book was one time I show my Great Grandmother the stuff I want my parents to buy me. All The Welcome Back Kotter , Starky and Hutch, Lenny and Squiggy, and Happy Days stuff.

The best part of the Sears Wishbook for me was the Lego section where they showed all the different sets fully built. Lego sometimes got 8 to 10 pages all of their own in the toy section.

I also got them but from my grandparents and sometimes I got what I circled but most of the time I didn't I usually got what I wanted by telling them
do they still make wishbooks ? I haven't had one since like 2000 or 2001 but by now I'm to old for that stuff but a little nostalgia is good.

I saw one from last year, it was dire. All the good stuff was gone and was replaced by cheap crap and imitations.

that sucks but time = change and change isn't always best for things.
