Picture or non.
My dad read "A Bucket Full of Moon" to me every night back in 1990 when my mom and brother left to Paris on vacation. I remember it had a weird looking old lady trying to grab the moon on every well-drawn page... I never got tired of listening to my dad read me that book.
Of course, the RL Stine Goosebumps books. Never had more fun with reading than reading them GB books competing with my friends to see who could read the latest monthly edition first. Fond memories of my mom leaving me at Walden Books in the mid 90s at the local mall -- I'd grab the latest GB book, sit down for 90 minutes and plow through it.
I also recall "The Brothers' Lionheart" or some other, borrowed it from the library a lot and it was one of my faves. Also having a hard time locating a copy today. Apparently, it's pretty rare?
Wayside stories books
Louis Sachar or whatever, he was a good author
So was Mr. Dahl of course. James and the Giant Peach FTW.
Where The Red Fern Grows. Wizard of Oz. Mostly Michael. Tales of a 4th Grade Nothing.
THE BOOK I CAN'T REMEMBER ITS TITLE:
It's a Halloween-related picture book. Cookie to anyone who remembers. All I can recall was in the book there was a striking photo of a kid (or two) clinging onto a pole for dear life from the evil witch standing far below. What book was this? I know for sure it came out no later than 1994, because I borrowed it during Halloween season in the early-mid '90s. That one striking picture I explained is the only thing I remember.
