For those of us here who are wrestling fans, what was youjr first memory of wrestling? For me it was that hulk hogan cartoon from the 80s, but i didnt really become a full-fledged fan until 1990 when i played the NES "wrestlemania" game and loved it so much that i started watching regularly (though i usually had to tape it as it came on late at night) and renting old coliseum videos and ppvs from the video store.

I believe it was Austin vs Dude Love at some PPV. I remember them fighting in a crowd and my brother and father were watching it so I sat down and started. Then I was hooked. But i no longer watch wrestling anymore.

Hmm I think it was the Kane vs. Undertaker inferno match, I know my first memory of wrestling was in 98.

I would have to say when my parents bought me some of those old LJN wrestling toys. Then I saw the night the Mega Powers exploded.

          I'll always remember

          1. Rowdy Roddy Piper hitting The Superfly Jimmy Snuka in the head with a coconut in the
          Piper's Pit

          2. Jesse the Body Ventura as an announcer calling Tito Santana "Chico Santana" whenever
          Tito was wrestling.

          3. Rowdy Roddy Piper, Cowboy Bob Orton and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorf feuding with
          Hogan and Mr. T

          4. Hulk Hogan's Rock and Wrestling

Hey Cquinniey, do you remember at WrestleMania 7 when Ventura would refer to Reba McEntire as Tito's sister? Ariba McEntire and Gorrrila Monsoon would tell him to cut it out.
That was a very fun time in wrestling. I have been a professional wrestler for almost 12 years now and I love it. I would have to say that my earliest memory of it would have to be sitting on my dads lap (God Rest His Soul)and watching the Jerry Lawler vs Austin Idol feud from Memphis WAY back in the early 80's. Back when Randy Savage, Rick Rude, King Kong Bundy and different others were still in the small territories before they got their call up.
We even went to a few of the Mid South Coliseum shows when they were feuding. Those were the days.

I didn't start watching wrestling until around 1994 or 1995 when a friend got me into it. I don't remember who wrestled in the first match I watched...but I remember watching lots of matches involving wrestlers like Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, The Undertaker, Yokozuna, Bam Bam Bigelow, Lex Luger, and Doink the Clown (wow, I think I just named off the roster of Wrestlemania the Arcade Game).

I began watching wrestling when i was about 7, that was around 1982. That was when it came on Saturday Nights. It was hosted by Gordon Solie, then it was called Saturday Night Main Event, then it went on to become World Championship Wrestling.
                  I love the 80's.

The entire Wrestlemania IV card was my earliest memory. My mother and I would visit a friend of hers and the family were wrestling fans. They had Wrestlemania IV on cassette as soon as it was available and I watched it with them. The whole tournament thing with Savage hitting the big time, Bret Hart smashing that trophy after the battle royal, seeing the crazy Ultimate Warrior's PPV debut... It was really something. That got me into wrestling.

You brought back some memories with Austin vs Lawler. I never saw any of those matches but some of the wrestling magzines I bought back in the 80's used to talk about it. I still remember when Austin had long blonde hair.

It was when I first moved here to Georgia in 2001. My cousin had some wrestling figures lying around while he was watchign an episode of Smackdown. The Dudley Boyz were about to powebomb Stephy Mac through a table when Triple H (or was it Jericho..?) saved her. I don't remember the end of the match...

From then on, my cousin gradually introduced me to the appeal of the WWF and I've loved it every since. Even though 2006-07 was a god awful year :x But they recovered.

I have several different moves that I do that just makes the crowd go...WOW! The one that sticks out in my mind the most is the move that I used on an NWA Main Event show in Nashville, Tennessee several years ago when a young Chris Harris was there. He used to be part of America's Most Wanted in TNA with James Storm. I used a move to finish a guy off that was a version of the Rock Bottom. I would catch the guy in a cross body and hold him there, and then swing him around and we would both land hard to the mat. Me face first, my opponent back first, just like a rock bottom. Several weeks later, Chris Harris was using it on TNA PPV. I got an email from him a couple of weeks later telling me that he "borrowed it". I dont mind helping out the young guys in the business. That would probably be my favorite now that it is being used nation wide. Now Umaga does a variation of it on RAW.

Back in 1966 there was a drug store about a mile from my house where all the guys in the neighborhood went to buy comic books. One day I was looking for something different and I noticed a wrestling magazine with the biggest man I'd ever seen on the cover. His name was Bruno Sammartino.

Started buying wrestling mags with my comic books after that.

My first memory is seeing Bret Hart on a WWF show that aired Saturday morning taking an axe to The Undertaker's coffin backstage while The Undertaker was in the ring watching on the screen. I believe it was sometime around 1993.
