hey if anyone can help i'd really be appreciative,

when i was little my older brother and i watched this cartoon,in the beginning there is this guy who is obsessed with gold, he is this bent over-beggar type and cannot resist the sight of gold, then somehow the story goes to a boy who falls for a princess, an evil witch-like creature living in a mountain cave and some final battle between the bad guy and the boy who loves the princess, but its this epic battle with these enormous machines made of -as i recall- cogs and things. its really quite trippy and very different to disney, i know what i've said is very vague but its all i can remember. someone once told me it could be isnogood, but nothings come from that.

only character i can think of who is a bent-over beggar type obsessed w/ gold is Dijon from the DuckTales movie...but the story doesn't really fit in w/ what you've mentioned.

Could it be The Thief and the Cobbler? I dunno, that's just a wild guess.
