I got my dog around the Time doug (The nickoloden doug) Was still growing strong! I remember telling my parents to name our dog Porkchop, But they refused. :(
My dad named our dog Duke, after the G.I. Joe character, because he loves G.I. Joes (although that's more of a toy line), and my brother a long time ago had a beta fish named Gyarados.

This is not exactly a cartoon character but some video game characters. I had a Mouse named Yoshi, a Hamster named Mario, and a Guinea Pig named Luigi.8)

yep i did off a sit com i had a cat named alf lol.
I had a fish named Barney, after Barney from The Flintstones.
When I was 10 my family got our first dog. My dad and I for about an hour tried coming up with a name for the dog, at the time I was playing Super Mario World and I suggested Yoshi. My dad gave me the funniest look and he goes "What the fuck is a Yoshi?" Needless to say that did not become my dogs name, it became Babes.
Well...............i dont know if this counts but i named my cat adolf because he had a little hitler mustache :lol:

I didn't name my pet goldfish I had as a kid after a cartoon, I named it Whitefish named after a track on one of Yes' live albums.
I named my kitty cat after Milo, from Milo and Otis. It wasn't a cartoon, but it was a really cute movie(=
