Because I sure don't , but the tunes sure were catchy back then. Warning serious late 70s, early 80s vibs. I wonder how something like this would work today?

Wow no one ever seen any of these, no comments? I have a slight memory of the CBS ones.

Hello bassman21. Yes it was fun to watch old school promos and I'll share my thoughts.

When it comes to television, I'm a big fan of understatement. Especially during the late 1970's I've always found extravagant, overproduced network promos very distasteful!

One of the worst aspects of 70's TV was the Fred Silverman phenomenon. Now I can't prove it, but as Fred Silverman moved from one network to another, of course new shows would air but the spillover effect was also overblown network promos.

I understand how difficult it must be in the entertainment industry not to oversell your products. But when network executives green-light loud, long, exaggerated promotions bordering on hyperbole - I just turn away.

Note from 1979: WKRP in Cincinnati is a cool show. I don't need the entire Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing its praises at me 36 times a week to keep me watching! Do you?
