Everybody knows that Batman Returns, Jurassic Park, and Titanic had no previews on the tape, so I like to ask you which tapes did you rented, you have, or you don't have that contained absolutely no previews before the film?
The Sesame Street videos that were released by Random House video did not have any previews.
How in the world can anyone remember? I don't think most people have that sort of thing stored in their memory bank.
Funny enough, I seem to remember Robin Hood Prince of Thieves not having previews. It struck me as weird even at a young age.
The Muppet videos made by Playhouse Video had no previews at the beginning.

Exactly. Sony Wonder re-released the aforementioned videos with previews intact (including the Elmopalooza VHS I have in my VHS collection).

I can confirm that my childhood copy that was bought shortly after it was released priced to own, definitely did not have any advertising. In fact it starts really quickly after very brief still shots of the FBI warning and the WB Home Video logo, as if the movie's runtime was a tight fit on the length of tape.

The version with ads might have been on a later run of the VHS? Or possibly the rental version?

I am getting a screener VHS of The Princess Diaries (2001) with no previews in the near future.
