I got plenty of stuff for Christmas as a kid! Back then it was pretty much how I got my best games.

I didn't really ask for much. A train set and a SEGA Genesis are the only things I remember specifically requesting. And I got them both.

That trigger my memory of actually asking for a Genesis and getting one for Christmas.

Some years I would get what I wanted, and some years I wouldn't. My favorite Christmases were the ones I got a new video game system - NES for Christmas 1988, Super Nintendo for Christmas 1992, and Nintendo 64 for Christmas 1996.

Hardly ever! :( I usually got the cheap knockoffs of what I really wanted or something I didn't ask for. But I do remember several items that were on my list for years such as MouseTrap boardgame, the McDonalds Play-dough set, the REAL Monopoly game and a Pogoball. I never got those. And you'd think that if you beg for something for 3yrs in a row, u could at least get it.

I remember when I was about five or so, I asked "Santa" for a Lite Brite every year. I got one when I turned eight. lol

Ironically, I've never asked for any game consoles. Those were just given to me. When I was 11, and woke up to see an SNES, my jaw dropped. My mom told me years later (you know, after the whole "Santa" thing), when she saw me in the toy store playing it, she figured I liked it, and, I'd also made honor roll when graduating from Elementary School, so she said it was a reward.

The N64 and PS2 was a shock to me as well since I didn't ask for it. The year the N64 came out, I'd actually asked for DKC 3, but got an N64 instead. lol

I always got what I wanted, but there was always a budget as we didn't have allot of money. I kind of wish I could have been surprised more. Many of the kids I knew were so spoiled. They just didn't get a game system. They got a game system, a bunch of games, a bunch of toys, a pair of Jordans and more. Screw them!!!!

Two times that I can remember and they both made for very happy christmases, naturally. The first was when I asked for a really high end Lego set, I didn't specify which type and got a really great Space Police set, I loved all the clear red plastic bits it had. The other time was when I asked for a keyboard. I wound up with a Yamaha one, in retrospect it wasn't that great a model of keyboard but it sure made me happy when I was a kid.

There were a couple of times I got things I didn't even ask for, let alone expect but they were big surprises and I loved them. When I was about 8 I got a GT Sled which I loved, I thought that was the greatest. A couple of years later I got a pair of cross country skies. In my mid teens I got my first dvd player and a coupon good at Music World I used to buy some dvds for it. The first dvd I got had all three VHS titles the Doors had out in the late 80's and early 90's on one dvd with extras.

I think the only disappointment I had was asking for a Rowdy Roddy Piper action figure (They are not dolls) and I got Hulk Hogan in 1985.

When I was little, I got this sweet ride. Oh yeah. Be jealous.

I used to ride around my neighborhood with it, raking peoples leaves for money

It was loud as all hell though.
