I know anybody who's anybody remembers Saturday mornings, and of course there was weekday programs in the morning and afternoon, but has anyone had cartoons play Sunday morning? And I'm not talking about the stuff that's near 24-7 like Cartoon Network, Disney, or Nick, I'm asking if anyone had their local networks actually play animated stuff. Some of mine had Sunday blocks in the mid-90's, with shows that included Ducktales, Chip N' Dale's Rescue Rangers, Swat Kats, 2 Stupid Dogs, Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, Iron Man, Fantastic Four, Super Mario Bros., Alvin and the Chipmunks, and G.I. Joe. In fact, for its first few years where I lived Kids WB played on Sundays!

Yep, I remember WB11 in which I'd awake to the sweet scent of breakfast and the pokemon theme song, there was also Super Mario world which came on PAX and there was Spider-man tas on Fox Kids. Man I could go on forever, so many saturday morning memories, so many cartoons over the years.

Whatever happened to the saturday morning mania, I mean one by one cartoons seem to be dissappearing from the weekend airwaves starting with Fox. And the few that still do show saturday morning cartoons usually have some sort of live action show to buffer it out.

I have a lot of memories of Sunday morning cartoon goodness...

I remember Disney Adventures on GMTV, kinda the UK/Sunday Morning equivelant of the "Disney afternoon" you Americans had.
I also remember Channel 4's Sunday morning kid's programming lineup included the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog (AoSTH, and later SatAM), Earthworm Jim, Bump in the night, Hong King Phooey and Trapdoor.

I'd share some more memories with you folks, but I can't think further at this moment in time.

I don't remember watching cartoons on Sunday at much at all, though I noticed they seem to have it as an weekend afternoon thing up in Canada at one point in time (startled me as I was more used to seeing network cartoons on Saturday mornings).

I hate to admit to many here that I never did see "The Disney Afternoon" as a whole, since there was not a dedicated station in town that could show all of it, and often the cartoons were split into being shown either in the mornings or afternoons on separate stations, so I never really saw the familiar Disney Afternoon Op/Ed sequences or the theme tune, but the content alone puts me in the same spot.

thought we were not including cable networks here :?

in any case, all they ever showed here was boring stuff on sundays. ya know, like face the nation, meet the press, the hour of power, etc etc etc.

I had some Sunday cartoons too. There was a block which played Captain Simian, Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders, and Extreme Dinosaurs. I always thought Captain Simian and Extreme Dinosaurs were great shows. My little sisiter watched Jewel Riders so I usually watched it with her to kill time waiting for Extreme Dinosaurs. Although I still like it, I always thought it wasn't as good as Sailor Moon, although it was mildly interesting, which is more than I can say for some of the other stuff she liked. :P

But my favorite Sunday cartoon was Voltron The Third Dimension. I had seen the original series, so I knew I would enjoy it. I have 6 episodes of it on VHS and all but the last of the original series on DVD, and I find it's just as good as the original.

Back in the 80s and 90s KCOP use to play some great Sunday morning cartoons. They use to show the Paw Paws and Tom and Jerry. In the mid 90s KTLA use to show Fantastic Four.
