I think it was a short for kids but I could be wrong... maybe on pee-wee's playhouse but again not sure at all. Everything is really vague.
It seems really old to be on that show though, like I was born in 84 but this seems like an older style cartoon so I'm not sure how I seen it.
Anyway it had to do with Animals singing and skipping through the forest one the way to their grandma's house or something... they were carrying books and singing about how they were going to color in them or something I think. I remember it revolved around the one animal kind of... it was a big rhino or something and they were picking on him.
Seem to remember most or all of the cartoon is singing and skipping I really remember that rhino skipping through the woods with his book singing.
I remember when I was young they had these multi colored jelly candy in the shape of animals that would remind me of it. By multi colored i don't mean like one was green and another one was yellow... everyone of them were like green, red and yellow.
