Besides me, do any 90's or 2000's kids remember the animated series Britt Allcroft's Magic Adventures of Mumfie? It's an animated series created by Britt Allcroft, the lady who brought the adventures of Thomas the Tank Engine to our television screens. It revolved around an elephant named Mumfie, his best friend, Scarecrow, and a flying pig named Pinkey, as they went on many adventures. You can learn more about it at mumfieand.me, the new Mumfie website. There's also going to be a revival of this series pretty soon, along with new merchandise. The series is also on Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Instant Video.
Let me share my memories of the show first. I recall watching it when I was only a few months old with with my older brother on Fox Family back in 1998. My brother watched it because it was aired on the same block Thomas aired during on Fox Family and because it had the same creator, but my mom hated it, especially the flying pig's voice. She only liked two episodes-the one where Whale is taught about oral hygiene, and the one where Mumfie has a nightmare after eating too many mashed banana pancakes! I remember most of the episodes quite well, as recently watching it on Hulu made me go "Wow! I remember this scene" whenever certain parts came up. Five years later, I saw the ad for the series' movie on a Cabbage Patch Kids VHS when I was 5 and had fond memories of it, and wanted to watch it. One of my babysitters actually got me the VHS and I watched part of it one night. Then, we watched it again in kindergarten...and I was traumatized by The Wicked Secretary! I later got over my fear when I rediscovered the series. It's a pretty fun show, if I do say so myself. I really love Scarecrow!
That being said, does anyone else have memories of the Mumfie series or movie or know what it is?
