What magazines do you remember reading in the '80s and the early 90s?
There was this kids movie (came out in early 90s, maybe? straight to video as well?) about a girl who pretends to be a boy so she can join a local band. She plays keyboard.
I remember just two short scenes-the boys from the band are in her house. She has the keyboard automatically play a song so it seems like her older brother or someone is upstairs playing it. Then the the boys and her (later on) knock down garbage cans.

Disney Adventures was huge as a kid in the 90's, I'm so bummed they cancelled it last year.

Kid's magazines from the 80's? Of course there's Mad Magazine and Cracked. I also remember Sesame Street Magazine. It was a bit like today's Nickelodeon Magazine only with Sesame Street characters and less crude. Highlights, Cricket (I think it was Cricket...it was some kind of bug), um...I loved reading as a kid and I am sure more names will come to me. If they do I will post them for you.
I read Highlights, Zillions, American Girl, Ranger Rick, National Geographic World.
Never underestimate your own abilities.
