Well this holiday season is almost over; time has really been flying. I guess that means we’ve been having a good time. With everything kind of winding down, I can’t help but reminisce on past holidays. Back when I was a child and my only job was to enjoy myself. Most of my fondest memories did not even take place in my own house, but at my cousins’ houses. I am an only child, so I had much more fun at family’s houses. While all the grownups were distracted by the Christmas and New Years party preparations and later on the parties themselves, we kids had way more freedom. It was almost like Lord of the Flies, minus the murder and tattered clothing. Brooklyn was a fun place for us kids during the 80’s and 90’s, especially on Christmas and New Years. We had epic games of tag, and different variations of tag and hide and go seek, all throughout the buildings and the block. With all the excitement and electricity in the air, it was the perfect time to muster up enough courage and let that special girl know that you liked her. Man those were great times, now everyone’s all grown up and stressed out lol.

I would like to hear about some of your favorite memories from past holidays…

Yes, when I was a kid Christmas at Grandma's was great. We would have Christmas there on Christmas eve with all the relatives. Later on when my cousins and I were teens we would sneak beers. lol
