I like smurfs Season 1-8, season 9 was ok. I wish that the smurfs would just end after season 8. What smurfs season do you think it jumped the shark?

...the smurfs jumped the shark? are you implying that they were campier than ever before?

I stopped watching them in the mid 80s. Never really saw an epic 'Jump the Shark' moment like many shows have. If so it must have happened after 1986.

I guess when the Smurfs started time traveling. I never saw the point of those episodes.

When I was younger I wasn't keen on the episodes focusing on their human allies. There was a an and his son. I think the man was called Yohan. I just prefered the episodes focusing on the Smurfs.

I think when they brought out the Smurf children around the mid 80's was when it JTS, mainly since it began to stray from Peyo's original conception of the characters into something a little different/modern.

The smurf children was called the smurflings. Some people said that Smurfs Season 9 jumped the shark because of time travel.

I guess everyone would say Season 9, but the show was constantly evolving throughout the 80's. Every year a new gimmick was added to appeal to kids. It started with the Smurflings, then Grandpa Smurf, Wild Smurf, baby smurf, Grandma, and then time travelling. Actually it started when they added Smurfette! LOL

Of course Smurfette and Baby Smurf were originally part of Peyo's stories otherwise, anything else developed in the series came about as if they needed to keep topping themselves.
