I read Knites article for writing articles (thank you wherever you are) but I still have a question.

If I wanted to put, let's say, three pictures side by side how would I go about that?

I would suggest using the "cheats" link to the side of the article editor.

But as far as I know, all you have to do is upload the pictures, cut and paste [pic (your picture's name)] three times without pressing enter to have 3 side by side (given, of course, that they're not too big.)

My best advice for those of you who are starting out writing articles is to write a few practice ones to start (but DON'T submit them.) You can keep them saved, preview them to see how they look, and then keep on going back and re-working them. Then pick the one you like best and submit it.

Also, don't just write an article for writing's sake. Wait till you have the perfect inspiration. My last article on Full House was conceived while I was in the shower. For whatever reason, I was thinking about a message I had gotten from Candace a little while back, and then that reminded me of how I had just seen Jodie a few nights earlier on Pants Off Dance Off, and from there I got the idea to use what knowledge I'd already gained and do further research, and what developed was a fairly decent article, if I do say so myself.

And like Knites has offered, I'm glad to volunteer my services as a proofreader/editor.

Thank you, that was informative. I've been inspired to write about my favorite computer games growing up but, like you said, I want to write it out fully with pictures before I decide if it's "worthy" for submission. I'm having issues putting the pictures up, I keep getting the blue square with the question mark. Am I supposed to upload the pictures to a hosting website like Photobucket, use urls from the internet from which I found the pics or click and drag from my desktop? (I have a MacBook)

Edit: I just found a paragraph that says I should upload the pictures to RetroJunk and not hotlink. How do I upload these images?

Yes, for articles you have to upload to Retrojunk. It's very simple. If you will scroll down the article editing page (the screen where you're actually composing your article) to the very bottom, you should see a button that says "Upload Pictures." Click it. You can then browse to wherever the picture is located on your computer and then upload it.

Once you've done that, you should see the pic listed in your uploaded pictures. For instance, if I uploaded a pic called stickymango.jpg it would look like this [pic stickymango]. You can cut and paste it into the article anywhere you would like.

If you want it aligned to the left, right, or center, the commands are [align left], [align right], or [align center]. Let's say you want to put stickymango.jpg to the right of your text. You would type [align right][pic stickymango][ /align]. (Just remove that extra space that I threw in before /align. I had to do that so it would show up in text.)

The closing [ /align] is important. Otherwise the rest of your article will be thrown out of whack.

If you don't want the black border around your pics, you can add the word "noborder" in your pic like so: [pic noborder stickymango].

        Simple enough?
