My 1990's Sports Memories article (http://www.retrojunk.com/details_articles/3102/) has -4 so far. Is it because it's too long or are there too many pictures?

Or is sports just frowned upon as a topic for articles?

Just curious! Would like to fine tune my future articles.

I'm guessing its just because, a, your article just appeared (I've noticed that fridays people tend to not be at work, and thus don't look at this site, seriously) and b, there probably aren't a huge amount of sports fans, your article isn't going to get rated that high. But don't let that discourage you, its very well laid out, there are both facts and personal reflection as well as a good dose of humor (I was skeptical about even reading your article, and then I saw you were talking more about controversies like OJ and Tonya Harding than actual sports trivia which is very dry). Its nice to see a well written article, and if I remember correctly, most of your articles are very well written.

Don't let that go to your head though, I wouldn't want your next article to start off by saying "most people on RJ think I'm the best article writer here" like someone else...

So just keep in mind, unless your article suddenly gets rated really high, there just isn't the desire here for sports articles. If you don't mind having low rated articles, then by all means write more sports ones (at least you'll be showing people what an article should look like), but if you don't then I guess you'll have to switch to topics that are more appealing to a broader spectrum of people. That doesn't necessarily mean you have to write video game articles and articles about cartoons you watched as a kid or articles about the best toys ever, but just write something that is more "high concept" that almost everyone can at least relate to, because for as many die hard sports fans out there, there are plenty of us who don't give a crap, you know?

Okay this is turning out way more complicated than I originally planned, but one last thing. I think had you called the article something more catchy, you'd have sucked more readers in. I read it just because I usually look at everything on the site. But as it is, I'm sure most people who aren't sports fans are just going to pass. So a title like "most controversial sporting moments" or something like that would probably got a bigger readership. Just my hypothesis anyways.
