After fans said that "Jason X" really killed off the F13 series, series creator Sean S. Cunningham decided to start over again "Batman Begins" style with a reboot of the franchise coming in february 2009.

New Line Cinema with Paramount Pictures, MTV films and Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes company are going to make a brand new fresh start with the director of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2003" Marcus Naspiel and producer Michael Bay with filming starting this august with casting this summer.

Sounds good to me. I really loved FT13 as a kid, but I'll be the first to admit they're not the most thought provoking movies. When Jason X came out, everybody was at arms about the plotline, thinking that it would ruin the series. But my stance was that they actually ruined the series three movies prior--and that's not including part 5--so if you're going to make a part 10, just have fun with it. I think a re-boot would be cool so long as they inject plenty of plot and not just make it a standard hack and slash job.

Well normally the F13 movies are harmless gory fun junkfood movies even though the original may be a knock-off of "Halloween", i do love them though especially "Jason X" which is one of my guilty pleasures and loved "Freddy Vs. jason".

Now this is a good idea for a remake. They have the original series creator involved. These filma also aren't like nightmare on elm street films with an actor that defines the character. All you need is a big dude in a mask killing tons of people. Plenty of plot would be a bad idea. Friday the 13 in a slash fest with little plot. Just get a big dude in a mask to chop the hell out of horny teenagers fucking and it will be good. No corny space shit or him turning into baby at end and a high death count.

You mean you all don't mind Michael Bay and Marcus Nispel?

At least the "Child's Play" remake is being helmed by Don Mancini even though I doubt it'll be good as usual.

Well i think this should be an interesting restart of the franchise and done well, i thought the remakes to "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", "Dawn of the Dead", and "Hills Have Eyes" especially "The Ring" were well done and maybe this will rank up there.

Well i believe this could be a whole new beginning for the franchise! Michelle Williams (Heath Ledger's wife) should play the part of the heroine with Kathy Bates as Mrs. Voorhees.
