Hey, all. My boyfriend turns 30 next month, and I want to throw him a themed party. He's a child of the 80s and 90s, and I want to have a kind of old school throwback kind of party that he would have if he were turning like, 13 with his buddies. He's still got the same childhood friends, so I'm going to ask them for suggestions. I'm thinking Super Soakers or a water balloon fight, trying to find some old favorite snacks like Ecto Coolers or Dunkaroos, find some Ninja Turtle party favors, etc. Any thoughts?

That sounds like a wonderful idea =) Super Soakers/balloon fights are so much fun! If there's one in your area, you could take him to a Laser Tag game =D

I'm really hoping that I can get all of his good buddies together for this. It's kind of a "12 going on 30" sort of thing. Maybe if the weather allows, have a fire and pitch a bunch of tents like a backyard campout. *??*

For a memorable 30th birthday, maybe you could borrow some ninja turtles or power rangers, or ghostbusters and playsets and videos from someone, and your boyfriend and his buddies could have a sleepover. They could all wear their favorite pajamas and drink juice boxes and play (toys) with each other all night long.

That's absolutely the way I'd like to go with it. I'm trying to think of fun outdoor stuff too since the weather will (hopefully) be awesome. So far I've got water bomb fights/Super Soakers.. what else could the guys do to fill up their afternoon like they would if they were 12 or 13? Hahaha

I vote send them to the titty bar with a pocket full of cash. I realize thats not as awesome as a group of 30 year old dudes spending the night together in ghostbuster pajamas and watching care bears, but thats the best I got.

My husband did an overnight Laser Tag party. It was after hours so we were allowed to bring food and beer. It was expensive, but a normal 3 games of LT during the day with everyone paying for their games is usually not terrible. For my 30th maybe I'll find a roller-rink or something. Or, if money is good, I'll request to go to Vegas.
