Good riddance. He was a prick. He kept all of the syndication residuals, and didn't give anything to any of the actors.

Wow you guys are mean. lol

It's true though. Only one cast member on Giligans Island got long term residuals (Mary Ann) and no one from the Brady Bunch did. To be fair most actors in those days didn't get residuals beyond the first 3 times that an episode appeared in reruns. It was in the contract they signed. So a lot of those old actors are getting screwed. Yet Viacom feels the need to run 20 minutes of commercials per hour for shows that are one step from being public domain.

Ha ha. Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) spent most of it on Pot.

I was really sad when I heard this. I've been watching my Brady Bunch complete series set (one of my favorite shows) and was shocked to hear the news. I was even more shocked to hear he was in his 90s. I mean, I knew he was old, but I had no idea he was that old.

Can you imagine being tagged with "Gilligan's Island" for more than 45 years?

Sherwood Schwartz had plenty of interviews over the years. As I recall he seemed very comfortable with his association with Gilligan's Island, especially as the years passed. But just like critics, of all kinds, Sherwood Schwartz never predicted, nor could explain, the unexpected popularity of Gilligan's Island.

I was 8 years old on that September night in 1965 when the first episode of Gilligan's Island aired. My strongest memory from that night was the of joy of my grandma and my parents. That was the last time the entire family was together around a single TV show and we all got a laugh from Gilligan's Island.

As Mr. Schwartz would tell you if he was still here; "1965 was a verry long time ago".

Rest In Peace Sherwood Schwartz from lil' Eddie.

I honestly thought he died ages ago. And yeah he sounds like a real cheapskate.
