I'd take a sequel/prequel directed by Scott over a remake any day. Seems he's getting nostalgic about his early sci-fi work.

Yep they just couldn't resist. They dug it up out of it's grave, then defiled the corpse, set it on fire, urinated on it, and then buried it upside down when they were done. :x

Jeez, pretty soon they'll start remaking films that never even existed in the first place.

None of those planes have guns on them. Are they all gonna try and ram the bird at the same time taking themselves out in the process?

Here's another pattern that we've all seen before.

A film, in this case "Blade Runner", does not do as well as expected in theaters. But after it's poor box office receipts the film goes on to become a sci-fi legend with a mass cult-like following.

And that's the key - the wide mass appeal that has grown around "Blade Runner".

Somehow we all knew it was gonna be messed with again.

Considering Scott's gone back and retooled the film so many times that George Lucas has lost count, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

But there's something about this project that dosen't feel right to me. I'm still getting the notion that someone's just thinking outloud and this whole idea is just brainstorming in public.

I don't think it's ever a good idea to make a prequel/sequel to 30 year old movies, especially one that's beloved as much as Blade Runner. It will never live up to the expectations. Just about every franchise that's attempted it has failed, with maybe the exception of Planet of the Apes.

I don't know (don't really care) about the Blade Runner thing, but being a fan of Alien and Aliens I have to say the stills from Prometheus look awesome!

After they remade Willy Wonka I pretty much gave up hope that Hollywood had any imagination left in them.

That's why I pretty much watch independent films for the most part. The last major cinematic release I saw was Iron Man...the first one..
