If I have to choose one, then it would be Back to the Future.
Well, for me there's a fine line between "BEST" and "FAVORITE"...
I got a top 10 list of favorite movies...
But the BEST would have to be the Lord-of-the-Rings triology, King Kong (2005), and the Star Wars Triology (episode I - III).
LOTR had such a good story line & when the action picked up, I really can't stop watching. Unfortunately, at neaerly 12hrs long... it's tough to watch all 3 movies at once.
Star Wars newer triology I like more because of the whole sci-fi thing & how everything came together. Some hate Phantom Menace (ok, many hate it), but I liked it lots... and it only got better as the series progressed, especially in full surround sound.
Then there's Kong. I was glued to the screen the second the movie started until the ending credits rolled. Why it didn't do better at the theater, I'll never know... but those 3hrs passed like nothing. Once they got to Skull Island and came in contact with those nasty insects, dinosaurs, and of course... Kong... it had my 5 star rating!

Familly Guy. The Stewie Movie. I laughed harder at this movies than I have at anything since before I can remember.
Wow... best? Can't decide :( There are so many in my opinion. One's I always need to watch are Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sky High. One's I've seen in theature that will most likely join the list are V for Vendetta and The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe.
I agree about the Star Wars. I've only recently learned that everyone hated Phantom Menace; everyone I knew had enjoyed it or just didn't understand it but liked it anyway lol. I thought it was awesome. CGI insane or not, it was still pretty cool. Also, it was the last we'd see of Yoda as a puppet :? He looked too fake in CGI, but, oh well; if Lucas prefers it that way, then so be it. And I also love ROTS to death. Other than the originals, that has to be my favorite. Even the book was awesome.

Defiantely 'Falling Down'.
One of the greatest movies I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

Ive worked at a video store for 4 years...and i have descided...u cant ever ask this question...each "best" movie, depends on the catagorie...thus, you cant compare:
Best Drama- Shawshank Redemption
Best Horror- Birds
Best Animation- Lands before time...but i really cant descide

Donnie Darko, Princess Bride, Ever After, A Walk to Remember, Say Anything, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, and The Breakfast Club were the best that I have ever seen.

i chose lands before time for the following reasons
it was the first film i saw in theaters
still makes me cry
its a Don Bluth flick
im still searching for a tree star
damn good flick
wizards, last unicorn, and balto...they have their moments...but they dont have staying power like this classic. 8)
