okay i was on the Shining board on Imdb..and one of ppl on there had a picture of the man in the dog suit...for some reason...just looking at this image makes me terrified..i cant look at it more than like 3 seconds..
is it just me or is that not one of the bizzare scary moments in the film

For me, that was one of the spookiest scenes in the film. :shock: I mean, wtf was that all about?

Its one of the side stories about the Overlook. One of the caretakers and his dog. Its no spoiler, just history that King made up for the hotel. It went something like the staff found the caretaker dead and the dog eating his corpse. Something like that. I know that Kubrick wanted to include more of the history of the Overlook in the movie, but it was running too long.

That would have atleast made more sense if it was included in the film. Man, it was the snap close-up and orchestral bit that really made the scene creepy. :shock:

That was a great scene. As a kid it creeped the hell outta me.
also in the book there was a man in a dog suit who threatened to bite off Danny's penis... I think thats the guy but they left that part out.

nope, I am dead serious. Re read it. I remember it very distinctly
The setiing of the scene and lighting made the image look scary :shock:

yea i wasnt sure but i figured the whole situation of what he was doing was Adult. this has to be the most bizarre creepy part of the movie
this creeped you out more than the hag in the bathtub, or the twin sisters?
