I don't think there is already a thread for this, so lets see how it goes. Whats so great about your city? sometimes things get boring everywhere, sometimes things seem perfect too. If RJ was going on an imaginary roadtrip, what are the top things you'd point out? as well-known, or hole-in the-wall as you want......

Seattle has the obvious tourist attractions: the waterfront, space needle, public market, EMP etc. All of which are highly reccomended. Its really pretty here, especially at night downtown. There is an awesome bakery by the market called Le Panier, very tasty

In Melbourne, the first thing I'd probably point out is the tram system. Melbourne's one of the few cities with an extensive, central tram system, and it really shapes the whole experience and lifestyle of the city.

There's a lot of great architecture, too. Not that I know anything about architecture, but I appreciate it. Lots of fine old buildings like the Old Melbourne Gaol (where the legendary outlaw Ned Kelly was hung), as well as crazy post-modern edifices like the Melbourne Museum.

One thing I would take any visitor to is an Australian Rules football game, at the MCG (Melbourne Cricket Ground, the stadium where the 1956 Olympics was held). Melbourne is the home and heart of the AFL (9 out of 16 teams in the league are based here), and there's nothing quite like being at a sell-out game at the MCG.

The shopping, food, and music are great, too, or so I'm told. Not really into that kinda stuff.

I live in Baltimore-we have an awesome aquarium, great bars and clubs, and awesome tourist attractions (ESPN Zone, Planet Hollywood, Hardrock Cafe, etc), PLUS it's really close to Washington DC, which has even more to offer than Baltimore!!!

I agree about the subway, but disagree with the latter comment. New York is very big, very crowded, and can be a little scary sometimes, but if you're in the right place at the right time, it feels like the whole world revolves around you. Every band worthy of attention plays there during tours, every Broadway show worth seeing is there, any kind of food you could ever want is served there, and even if you're all alone, you never really feel that way because there's so many people around.

I love going to St. Marks Place and seeing all the pretty people walk by-- the indie kids in their Rivers Cuomo glasses and thrift shop knits, the punks in their spiky multicolored hair and leather clothes, the occasional batch of Hare Krishnas singing and dancing down the street-- and poking around various shops in midtown Manhattan.

Well here are a few things from our city of Cincinnati:

                  1. The Chilie - Skyline and Goldstar Chilie, the best chili you'll ever have in the U.S.

                  2. La Roses Pizza - Our local Pizza Chain

                  3. 20 minute drive - I can get from any point in the city in under twenty minutes.

                  4. The Educational Facilities - Particularly the University of Cincinnati and Xavier University.

                  5. The Zoo - Its nationally recognized.

                  6. Union Terminal - Its the real life Hall of Justice from the super friends!

Other than these things, I can't seem to figure out what this town has going for it. I mean we're very conservative here in Cincinnati, yet many of us feel that its just not progressive enough to compete with other cities in the midwest.

At one time Cincinnati could compete with Chicago!

I want to go to new york so badly. Way into the whole theater scene. God, I can see it now, I'm inevitably gonna look like such a tourist if I go, I guess there really isn't a good way to avoid that  and I am Clark Kent, the whole traffic situation in Cincinatti sounds easy! Seattle can be hell, not as bad as NY or LA of course, but still a pain in the ass enough. And I love hearing about the random stuff, like local pizza chains

I live in Oklahoma City & it's pretty nice here. The cost of living is extremely low & that's good because I am poor, LOL. We have a great Art Museum. There's a ton of great restaurants.

If I could live somewhere else I would choose London or Amsterdam!

I live in a small Pennsylvania town. The best thing about this town is we have an ordinance that keeps out any big franchised business. Everything in this town is mom and pop stores. From the liquor store to the pizza shop. And we have every type of business here. Another great thing is the amount of festivals we have in the town park per year. Good food made by local churches and organizations, local bands, and rides for the kids. This town is also very crime free. The biggest crime our cops have to deal with is cruising and the occasional DUI, with a smattering of a low end domestic now and again.

Nada. Nothing is good about the state of Michigan in general. The best thing is watching the Tigers right now. There is not much to say about a state where the population is actually decreasing and for a good reason.

Job market is downright awful here. Jobs are being cut every single day. I could go on and on about it, but I don't want there to be any controversy.
