How is the movie? is it kind of like "The Keep", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Dark Crystal", "Jim Henson's Labyrinth", "Willow", The Silent Hill games, "Phantasm", "Suspiria" and "The Princess Bride"? Is it dark and eerie like a Tim Burton movie?

It's like none of those movies, you have to see it to believe it. But be warned, it is NOT for the squeemish. That 'R' rating is well earned

For some strange reason the film is not getting much acclaim. I have never seen a single preview for it and it only played here in one theatre. I think it was nominated for a few awards though, so I guess someone noticed Del Toro's masterpiece.

This is a very unique movie indeed and deserves a viewing. It provoked my imagination and yet still managed to plunge a screw driver into my stomach.

I've wanted to see it, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get the chance locally. Was it dubbed in English when you guys saw it?

Well, it got an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film and Screenplay (and several other categories). That's pretty high praise. Plus Salma Hayek went nuts when she announced the nomination. :)

                  No, it was subtitled.
