My mum was just throwing out a bunch of her old magazines, and I spied a Christmas issue of Woman's Day so I rescued it to have a look through.

Turns out it was from Christmas 1985, and chock full of 80s toy ads. There's a full-page ad on Wuzzles, a Kay-Bee toys ad (featuring MASK, Transformers, and MOTU), a Barbie dollhouse ad, and many full-page ads for stuff like the Fisher Price tape recorder and Tyco Super Blocks.

I will scan it when I get a chance, but I couldn't wait to share. :D

No, I think she just gets a bunch of them from thrift stores or whereever every now and then.

SWEET! I can't wait to see it. I wish my mom woulda kept stuff like that. My grandmom saved the 1985 Montgomery ward christmas catalog but I think she may have tossed it as I haven't seen it in years.
I don't know about you, Miss Kitty, but I feel so much... yummier

awesome. I had a bunch of old christmas mags that had a lot of 80s toy ads too. Also, I just found a bunch of toy industry trade magazines from about 1984-1988 and almost every page promotes some show or cartoon from the 80s, I've compiled them into a photo album. I've been working on an article about merchandising and I will post some of the ads in it.
*That's it! I'm so gonna be like Angela Bower...except with better clothes.*
