I am more bothered by grocery prices. $97 and no dinners covered...just breakfast, babyfood, 2 lunches, and drinks! :x

I work in the oil exploration industry and other than wanting to bank a shitload of cash there is no reason for gas prices to be as high as they are.
Granted it is a lot better now then it was a year ago.
After Katrina it was almost $3 a gallon down here and now it is hovering around $2.

There was BUT it was asking what the price was in your area.

how real do you wanna get? This is a debate topic in my opinion. Do you really want to know the evils behind gas prices? cant we just talk about old stuff. :)

I don't drive anymore. I bought a skateboard and I "Skitch" to work, just like Marty in "Back to the Future".

Just kidding, I am unhappy about the gas prices but I'm not going to let it ruin my life. Its the least of my worries. I just drive a little less if I can.

By the time I start driving, we may be living in the final years of the gas-controlled car age.

that's been said since the 70s.

Well, the gas prices around here are at $2.23 a gallon now, and while I don't have a car ( or a license for that matter, a true shame) I still cringe as they just seem to keep climbing.

Although a few weeks ago they dropped to just under 2 bucks...I think everyone was like "never thought I'd see that again!"
These aren't my rules. Come to think of it, I don't have any rules.

I feel fine about gas prices, because they have actually stayed relatively steady over the years. Yes, they've gone up, but so has inflation.

In 1950, gas was $0.27 a gallon. Adjusted for inflation, that comes out to $2.10 in today's money. In 1980 it was $1.13 a gallon, which after inflation adjustment is $2.68

The gas price on the hill today where I live is $2.11 for regular gasoline.
The price of gas has not gone up by an appreciable amount (although it did spike there for a few months), it has remained fairly constant, given inflation.
