Ok, I have a question for all the parents here. I talk to some other people who are parents on another board and there is this one lady who says she buys toys (non adult) for herself, but denies she likes them and says they are her kid's.

Do any of the other parents here do that? And why would somebody do that?

I asked my mom about this and she said if she bought toys for herself that she would own up to owning them.

That is one of the benifits to having a kid, you get to enjoy the toys with them. I fully admit it, I like toys, I always have, and always will. It is a privilage and a joy to share in a childs early years. And toys make excellent memories.

I still have my toys. I'm not embarrassed to have toys as an almost 30 year old.

I am 36 years old and a collector. I have various toys all over my house (Transformers, Godzilla, Star Wars, McFarlane NFL sports figures, etc..). I also have a 13 year old daughter and a 2 year old daughter, I buy my toys and their toys and am not ashamed of my hobby, in times where anyone has asked I I tell them who the toys are for.

I don't give a crap what anyone thinks of my collecting either..

My condolences on your peace of mind.

I have, at this moment, a metric boatload of LEGO's strewn about my apartment. Not just in one spot, but from the living room through to the bedroom. I have no children(that I know of), so what do you think I'm going to say.

The only thing that comes to mind is a quote from Dr. Who:
"What's the point of growing up if you can't act childish sometimes?"
                    :(
