I'm looking to get various 80s buttons to put on a denim jacket I plan on buying. I came across a pretty decent set of them (20 buttons altogether), but I'm wondering whether I should buy them.

Most of these buttons are based around 80s movies, so I definitely want those. The other buttons in the set are based around TV shows, most of which are female-oriented (In this category are buttons of "Strawberry Shortcake", "Jem And The Holograms", "Rainbow Brite", "The Smurfs", "Care Bears" and "Punky Brewster"). I can understand those being included, being as the eBay store seems to cater to a female clientele.

So it's 15 buttons I would want to wear (I'll admit that I am a "Jem" fan) and 5 that I wouldn't. Should I buy the set or give it a pass?

i say go for it, it seems like ur going to get enough use out of the 15 to not have to worry about the other 5. a good question to ask yourself is that if it were the same price for only the 15 u wanted, would u still get it?

I'll keep that in mind. I bought a Billy Idol pin from someone on eBay and I paid for it, but the item went up again just a day or two again. I sent the seller a message about the item and then I used the Buy It Now option to get this item again. I just hope it goes through this time. I mean, I'm good for it. I just hope this seller doesn't screw me over again.

It would be nice if I got something else for all my efforts. I bought some buttons 2 years ago and the seller didn't notice how bad the condition was on 2 or 3 of them, so he threw in 5 other pins in good condition to make up for the problem.

i'd say, get a button maker machine (look up badge maker, pin maker, button maker) they are pretty reasonable. make a ton of your own ;)
just take screenshots of movies and/or tv shows etc.

Buy the lot, sell the ones you don't want, or keep them for trading.

maybe the person had more then one Billy Idol to give away, so he/she put a new one up after he sold the other to you. I see the same stuff being sold by different sellers all the time on ebay.

You know, I think that was the case. I got the mail today and, unbelievably, the button was in there.

Well, it looks like I have a duplicate on the way.
