I just came back from my research trip, and I charged my ipod before I went, but by today, the ipod was down half a battery because I used it of course, so I went to charge it ,but I had to click on the play button a few times before it actually turned on. I did see the apple logo on it, before it turned on. I have it charging now, but I notice my ipod went from 1244 songs down to 644. What happened? I'm trying to sync my ipod, because I have 1244 song on my playlist, it's just not going into my ipod.

How did I lose half my songs, and how do I get them back? I hoped this doesn't involve emptying my ipod :(

that happened to me once i think. i lost the songs i downloaded from itunes but i still had the songs i put on there from cds i owned. all i did was charge it onto my computer so all the songs could get back on there from itunes. so try charging it on the pc that has all your songs. not the charger

I have a cord that at one end I plug into the end of my ipod, and the other into the computer. Are you saying hook the ipod itself directly on the computer?

i thought you were using the charger you can plug into the wall and plug the other end of that cord into the ipod. if youre using that you should try the pc instead

Try the pc for what? I am following you, but, since I already have the ipod plugged into the computer via charger cord, what do I try the pc for?

also, all 1244 songs I've gotten so far from my cds. I haven't ordered any offline for download yet.

          Thanks :)

I'm not fusterated, but I'm puzzeled as to how I lost half my songs when I didn't use it from last night to today yet, except to charge it up.

It did that to me recently....I had like, 499 and then it shot up to like.....510 songs...? And *while* I was listening to it, it suddenly went back down to 501. Weird.

That's why you should use Walkmans instead.

DOWN WITH iPODS!

                    I use a Walkman.

I did have a walkman, but it kept shutting off at the slightest movement.

After trying out my sisters iPod, I realized that I disliked them.
The reason I don't like them is specifically because of iTunes. I hate that program since you are required to use it to in order to put songs into the player. It doesn't always function correctly and can be a hassle.

I got a Sandisk Sansa mp3 player with video and radio that didn't require a program to manage the songs I put onto the player. You can just drag and drop songs.

Did I get a Fluke Ipod and iTune?
My Ipod does skip at times, but I didn't lose any songs and my iTune works on Drag n Drop... :?:

This is why I use a Zen Vision:M instead of an iPod. iPods are too buggy :? .

If you still have issues with your iPod you should go join some iPod forums and get help there.

I did have a look at some ipod forums, and it seems alot of ppl are having trouble with them. If I remember correclty, one suggestion was to back up my library and then reload it into the ipod after I've reinstalled software or something.

got it fixed. just had to reinstall every thing. It was easy, since all my songs were in my playlist, and all had to do was put them back in my ipod.
