Guess what. I created a fun experiment for everyone to try - recording PBS idents after any show that doesn't have to be distributed by PBS.

Here's two examples I tried out:
- Mama's Family with 1993 CGI ident
- Full House with 1989 3D glass ident

Try this at home. You will need a VCR, some re-recordable videotapes, and a PBS station that plays old idents (optional). Then record an episode of your favorite show, followed by a PBS ident used during the episode's release date's period. If it's a kid's show (normally rated TV-Y or TV-Y7), you might want to record the current PBS Kids ident (unless your station shows the one with the dancing P-heads).

Good luck! P.S. Don't post any replies unless you've tried this before.

Or just put funding credits on any non-PBS show....that would crack me up....

No, no, I wouldn't recommend doing that. The show would then be different, so it's better to just put in the PBS ident, because it's more commonly used. I know it's not real, but trust me, it'll definitely be an amusing experiment.
