I dunno, I'm not trying to negative and I mean no offence to anyone...but
I stopped coming around as much when the next generation came around. All the conversations were about things like anamaniacs and backstreet boys. I actully enjoyed anamaniacs whille I was in my last year of highschool, but these things don't have the same nastalgic vibe for me, which is why I loved retro junk.

Needless to say I still come around from time to time, in hopes that I will find like minded souls, but not a everyday anymore.

Plus I'm stll a little ticked about my avatar.

You can't really put a peak on retrojunk. When the new generation comes in then the last will feel disenfranchised but it will be the peak for that new generation. There will always be people here from each of the generations and thats what makes retrojunk.

I dont know it really does feel like its in a slump right now. There seems to be less people posting, I find myself coming around less often I think we just need some more people who are actually on alot to come.

September 2005 to about February 2006, then a certain member dumbed the joint down and collected children followers.

Though its been slow, its back on the rise.

The way I see retrojunk now is that it has hit its peak. I don't think we have anymore that we could contribute to it. If the website were to be gone by tomorrow, one thing I would take with me is a newfound sense of love for my childhood. I have a greater appreciation for my past than what I had then. I have no more commercials, TV show intros from VHS tapes of mine that I could contribute for the archives.

I see your point, but since I joined in Sept 2005, there is an unshakable trend towards the regulars shifting from Memory Lane to Chit Chat for the reasons you mention

I have been a member of the forum here since May 21, 2005 on my other account, Darthmunky which broke when I tried to change my email address. Anyway, the peak for me was in the summer of 05 until about late January of 06. It just seemed much more active back then.

It was more active because of a certain you know who. After that certain you know who got banned, him and his little play pals headed for oldschool4life.com, an alright, but inferior website. Everything done on there has been said and done on here and the other retro forums I'm a member of. It's childish over on that forum compared to the more seriousness on here.

Personally, I like it the way it is now, it'll get more active in a while, let's just hope we won't have another Reaper.

But I wish I joined back in the early days though (as in 2004-2005)

^ Tell me about it. Soon even younger people will be coming here talking about how Robot Chicken is Retro. Well not on my watch. I'll see to it that these boards stays alive by starting some decent topics of my own...Damn don't I sound egotistical LOL.

I won't say decline, just a slight stagnation until some new blood arrives. This place was very active and filled with awesome people. Then the 12-14 year old crowd come through and the Pied Piper that collects them for his own purposes started posting "LOL <insert smiley face>" and nothing else. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Lets just turn this thread into a reason to improve it all. Cheers

well one person was talking about animanics, we had that, but taki was the main supporter for that.

even though reaper was a "post whore", i think that he attracted a lot of attention to the site. also, i dont want to sound annoying, but the old boards seemed like more fun and easier to handle. but the thing that really made retrojunk go downhill was the lack of sig pics. now you cant do it. and it makes the forums look ugly. so if there was one reason why i think its going down hill, would be no sig pics. it the site look much prettier. but i do miss taki. i wish she would come back.

What are you on about? How in the hell do you think he brought traffic into this forum? He is a sad little goat man sitting around basking in the glowing praise of 14 year old children. He preys on the weak minded that somehow take comfort in his perpetual ass kissing. Its a low self esteem club, nothing more. Its been said repeatedly, if him and his cronies make you feel better about yourself, then just go to his new den of assclownery. Enough already.

Noone came to RJ by googling Reaper. Period.

Though over the lifespan of this site pretty much every topic has been touched, it means nothing towards the decline of RJ. New blood will come in, revive old discussions with hopefully fresh takes, and the best is yet to come. And at the very least, hundreds of people with similar interests with come along and chat up other topics in chit chat.
