Maybe it's because they made a lot of new discoveries about dinosaurs back then? I'm not sure...that's just a guess.

Just a trend if I remember. Look how many mutant animal teams there were back then too; Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Biker Mice from Mars, Battle Toads, Tiger Sharks...

Was there ever a mutant dinosaur cartoon?? If not, someone missed the jackpot with that.

          Dinosaucers.
Not real sure about the "saucers" part, but still pretty close to a mutant team.

That’s because dinosaurs are radical. Even in the 90's you had things like Jurassic Park and recently dinosaurs were featured in King Kong. There was a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Dino series in the 90's too. My favorite was Tyranno Shredder. Does it get any more awesome than that?

Yeah, I think dinosaurs were particularly popular in the 80s. I had a bunch of dinosaur books. I guess because they're cool and big.

That's why the Dinobots were the perfect combination in my mind. Robot dinosaurs? Genius!

No, seriously. There was a 80's cartoon called "Dinosaucers". I ain't one to go after people for spelling, believe me. Did no one watch this gimpy show besides me?

I hate to keep bringing up Candelicious candy. However, there was a brontosaurus singing the jingle on the commercial.

                      Fruity delicious,
                      Bigger than you figure,
                      Fruity!
                      Five candelicious,
                      Bigger than you figure,
                      Uh-huh!

The jingle sounded good too. It was right up there with the Hershey's chocolate bar commercial with Cockroach from The Cosby Show and that Milk commercial with James Ingram.

Yes, I've watched it. They all had kinda cool names. Pretty standard cartoon, the evil T-Rex boss was always yelling at his incompetent minions.

I think "Obese Wrestlers from Outer Space" was about dinosaurs.

I always wanted to be a Secret Scout. the secret scouts from the show were lame. i could have put a secret scout ring to much better use. since im on the subject of rings, i would have been a much better planeteer than those losers from Captain Planet. (i would have had Dr. Blight on her knees) lol
