do you guys think the new Transformers movie will live up to the hype. judging from the trailers it looks like it will be an Awesome movie, but then again we have all been fooled before by spectacular trailers. look at The Covenant for example. i just knew for sure that that movie was gonna be good when i saw the trailer, but when i paid my $8.75 and hour and a half of my life at the theaters i was so let down. WHAT A WASTE!!! anyway back to the subject. The Transformers looks great but Tyrese Gibson is in the movie. that may be just enough to ruin it.

The person who is going to ruin the movie for me is none other than Michael Bay. Plus, the robots look like hell. I'll see it, but I'm going to the matinee. Not paying full price...

I'm excited for it. I'm thinking it will be amazing, especially since Steven Spielberg is the producer.

i totally agree.. the robots look like crap.. megatron.. i don't know wtf he is... the faces look like junk.. they want it to be realistic.. but they should have kept the faces normal looking... the only reason why i'm going to see the movie.. not only am i a big fan of G1.. but Peter Cullen is doing the voice and i met him at this past Botcon, and told him that he is the only reason why i'm going to go see it...

Yeah, the whole "Michael Bay being the director" scares me. But for me, it's kind of like TMNT.... it could look like the worst piece of crap ever put to film, but the fanboy-ness would take over and make me see it.

I'm pretty dubious about this movie. I was a Transformers fan when i was a kid, but this really doesn't look anything like the Transformers i remember. Seems more like they just want to use the name to sell their movie. Either way, i hope it ends up being entertaining.

I was reading about how Spielberg is a huge Transformers fan. During the orginal Back to the Future documentary there's a shot of him wearing a cap. On the cap is the Autobot symbol. So I honestly do believe he's a big fan of the series and toyline. I just have to wonder how close he's tied to the project.

Btw, I read the first issue of the prequel comic book that ties into the movie. I love Simon Furman's Transformers work, but he had a co-author on this. One of the writers from the film, I think. The book was blah. I could feel that Furman was the one who wrote the dialogue, but the plot was so cookie cutter.

I'm glad to see someone is talking about this in the forum. I too feel that this movie could either be fantastic or totally bomb. In this day and age where Hollywood can't seem to come up with an original idea, this movie might compensate for all the other recent "re-make" catastrophes. Our only hope is that Spielberg has is hands in this.

I'm sure the movie will be absolutely amazing but I didn't really like the trailor that played as a preview for recent movies. The whole NASA went to Mars and this was the last transmission and the only warning earth would get, cmon.... I don't remember, did the transformers try to like obliterate all llife on earth? becuz thats how the preview makes it sound.

Actually, the main reason the Transformers came to Earth was for natural resources. They wanted to convert it into Energy because they ran out of it on Cybertron.

Oh, and anyone else hear that Hugo Weaving (From The Matrix and LOTR)is going to voice Megatron?

                        Here's the artical:

It's mostly just hearsay for now, but I think they're going to pick him. I was hoping for the original voice actor (Frank Welker) to do it, since they got Peter Cullen for Prime.

Getting Hugo Weaving isn't that bad. He's got a great voice for the job. Welker would be excellent. But Weaving isn't exactly an insult. I heard rumors that George Clooney would be voicing Prime before they got Cullen for the job. Now that would just be a big slap in the fans faces.

I still hope Frank Welker will do be Megatron. He is one of the best voice actors ever lived. Hugo Weaving could do a good job.

I'm not comfortable with the fact that the robots will look like scrap metal sculptures rather than looking square and covered in colorfull shells like in the cartoon. Other than that I'm sure this will be a great flick. I know my cousin will enjoy it!

As of it right now Megs looks to be voiced by Weaving.. Of course this could change but all rumors point towards him.

Welker is rumored to voice another robot though.

i don't doubt that Weaving would do a great job with megatron's voice, but why not go with the origianl for fans' sake.

I have to agree with you on this. I wish they would have just did another animated tv show. It would have been cool to update the look of the originals. They could have started it after season 2 and pretended that season 3 and the movie never happened. I'm not expecting much for this movie.

Why did they make the robots faces look so damn dumb?
I hate it when hollywood changes stuff for no reason.
That dude, Soundwave would never watch this movie. His voice was wayy too cool for this dumbness
