I felt old for the first time when I was wacthing the NFL draft and I was was the same age as the guys being drafted. The I realised my childhood dream of making it pro would never happen.

Ok that has to do with age

I you are speaking about maturety well you can't really put a age on it. Serious responsiblities could make you grow up faster. For example a 18 year old who has to go out and get a job to pay rent and buy found IMO is more grown up that a 30 year old living out of his parents basement and his uneployed. So you could easilly be grown up at 21.

Also mentalty has a lot to do with it. the way you interact with other people beiing grown up also means being more mature.

      18. I was still doing stupid shit that kids do and was shocked when I faced up to 6 years in prison after getting caught for something. (I remember thinking "But I'm still just a kid.") That made me grow up a lot, very quickly.

A while ago, I realized it again when doing "adult" things. I bought a houseplant and changed banks the same day. Now thats some adult shit right there. Jampie said it nicely in his post... it doesn't matter the age, but the circumstances.

I also have to agree with Jampie, watching kids younger than you getting into the NBA, NFL, and MLB is one of the worst feelings.

Its really whenever you take your life into your own hands.

It's been said that the brain doesnt fully mature until the age of twenty five.

            20. I kept thinking to myself on my 20th birthday party, "Oh my God I'm 20. I'm old." To me, by the time you reach your twenties, that's the time when childhood is gone as in there are no excuses to delay adulthood. I still feel like a kid, but when I'm reminded of my age, i feel old.

I'm not going to lie, I don't think I'm what society would call "grown up"....I'm pretty mature, but when it all boils down I'm still pretty "young".

I meant that even though I'm pretty mature for my age, I wouldn't consider myself grown up yet. I went a little quotation-mark-happy there, sorry :)

                            25. I turned 25 on March 9th, I freaked out when I turned 25 because I felt old because I remember that back in 1985, I was 3, my kid sister was born!

I am 30 and I still like cartoons, candy, and toys. I also enjoy loud music and horror movies. The only thing that makes me an adult is that I take care of my responsibilities. I have always embraced a young state of mind though and I don't see myself changing anytime soon.

in my opinon, you are grown when you have your own. what i mean is when you start taking on major responsibilities such as buying a house or a car of your own, thats what makes you grown.
