B-E-A-T-L-E-S. At one time in 1964 they had the top 5 songs on the billboard charts. Not top 1 or 2 but 5! I know it was beatlemania time but I don't know of any group in the rock era that did that. If it weren't for the breakup who knows what they may have done.:cool: I know you asked about bands and they were more of a group even though they played instruments but the top 5 thing is just crazy.

They're very good but not the best. Of course, music is all opinion. :]
It's something to consider. I personally have other bands who I like more but Eddie Van Halen is one of the best if not the best guitar players in history (up there with Clapton and Hendrix) and the bands grooved pretty hard in their day. I think they were better with David Lee Roth rather than Sammy Hagar tho...

Yes, it certainly was. They're a great band, but I don't know about the "greatest of all time". Although, Eddie is probably the greatest guitarist of all time.
